Is Advocare safe?

According to Laura Zavadil, a registered dietitian writing for the National Institute for Fitness and Sport, AdvoCare may not be entirely safe and does not follow the current suggested dietary guidelines as of 2014. Zavadil further warns readers that AdvoCare and other supplements are not regulated by the FDA.

While AdvoCare promotes themselves as a leading health and wellness company in energy, weight-loss, nutrition and sports performance, Zavadil warns that many of the ingredients in AdvoCare products are simply laxatives and much of the weight-loss occurs as a result of purging the body of water. Numerous side effects have been reported by consumers.
