What is Ahava?

Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories, Ltd., is a cosmetics company based in Israel. The company makes a line of skincare products using minerals from the Dead Sea. It launched its original line of moisturizers, toners, hand creams and other skincare products in 1988.

Research funded in part by Ahava suggests that minerals found in Dead Sea mud have both cosmetic and health benefits. Among other benefits, the research suggests that Ahava's Dermud line is anti-inflammatory, full of antioxidants and reduces skin damage caused by the sun. Clinical research conducted at Ben Gurion University of the Negev found that compresses that use Dead Sea mud reduce pain in people suffering from knee osteoarthritis by 20 percent.
