Airsoft guns pose a real danger if operated in an unsafe manner and are capable of causing serious injury. In most jurisdictions they are only available for purchase by those over 18 years of age. Sealed eye protection is a must.

In some states this activity must be specifically supervised by the child's parents, while in others it is only mandatory that a person over 18 is present. Many municipalities ban the use of all firearms, including airsoft guns. Firing an airsoft gun in a municipal area could result in weapons charges.
