Does Al-Anon provide specialised services for teenagers?

Al-Anon provides specialized services for teenagers, as well as anyone who is affected by a person in his life with a drinking problem. The service for adolescents, called Alateen, is part of the Al-Anon family group and seeks to help teens share their experiences and receive support.

There are several services within Alateen and Al-Anon to help individuals aged 13 to 18 years old, including group meetings, moderated online chat meetings, newsletters and stories from other teens affected by alcoholism in their family. If there is no meeting in their area, teens are encouraged to attend an Al-Anon meeting. Adult sponsors are present for both Alateen meetings and online chat meetings.
