Does alcohol kill bed bugs?

Isopropyl alcohol kills bedbugs with which it comes into direct contact, because It has a dehydrating effect. It can kill some of the eggs, but only when used repeatedly.
Alcohol can be sprayed on the mattress and headboard, where bed bugs are typically found. Since the alcohol does not remain on the surface long, it does not continue to kill bed bugs after the initial application. It can also damage some furniture, so a small section must be tested before trying this remedy.
Bed bugs are an extremely difficult pest to eliminate completely; so while alcohol can be a temporary solution to help reduce the bed bug population, professional treatment for bed bugs is often required.
