What is an Amana PTAC unit?
By Forinfos - 25/05/2025 - 0 comments
Amana Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners are heating and cooling units intended for hotel rooms and other commercial applications. The units are wall-mounted and are capable of heating, cooling and circulating air with a fan.
There are several different model types of PTAC. The primary difference is in BTU capacity, with the model number indicating how many thousands of BTUs the unit puts out. Each model fits standard wall sleeves and is also available as a heat pump.
As of February 2015, Amana is owned by Maytag, and their products are assembled in Texas and Tennessee. There is a recall out on some model numbers due to faulty power cords.
