What is an American Eagle Silver Coin?

The American Eagle Silver is a type of bullion coin issued by the United States Mint. They are part of a series of American Eagle Bullion Coins that are intended for investors and coin collectors.

The American Eagle Bullion Coins were introduced in 1986, and a new design is issued each year, as of 2014. In addition to silver, they are also available in gold and platinum. The designs generally feature a Lady Liberty motif or the Statue of Liberty on the front with a bald eagle image on the back.
