What amphibian lives in the African savannas?

The African bullfrog, African clawed frog and African common toad are three amphibians of the African savannas. The ability of each species to tolerate the often harsh conditions of the savannas is key to their survival.
Reaching up to 9.5 inches and 4 pounds, the giant bullfrog escapes extreme heat and below-freezing winters in underground chambers. The aquatic clawed frog, boasting powerful legs for swimming and sharp claws for grasping prey, is an effective hunter in any water environment. With no natural predators, infrequent habitat loss and the ability to adapt to agricultural land, grasslands and thickets, the common toad is one of the most frequently seen creatures of the African savannas.
