What is the angle for the standard wheelchair ramp?

The Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines require that wheelchair ramps in public facilities have a slope angle of not more than 4.76 degrees. This corresponds to a ratio of 1 inch of altitude for every 12 inches of ramp length.
The ADA Accessibility Guidelines limit the maximum rise for any section of permanent ramp to 30 inches. This means that the longest allowable ramp is 30 feet in length. All permanent ramps must have a level surface at both the top and bottom of the ramp, and ramps with a rise of 6 inches or greater must have handrails on both sides.
