What animals eat black widow spiders?

Like all insects, the black widow has a variety of predators, including the mud dauber and the praying mantis. Occasionally, wasps eat these venomous spiders as well.

While they are hunted by larger and more powerful predators, black widow spiders also feed on an assortment of creatures. Their prey ranges from small insects, such as grasshoppers and caterpillars, to larger creatures, such as mice. They will also occasionally resort to cannibalism. Once its prey is stuck in a web, a black widow can inject the prey with enzymes. These enzymes break the prey down into a liquid state, making it easier for the spider to consume.
