Do ants have brains?

Ants have brains that are smaller than a pinpoint. Despite their tiny brains, ants are capable of complex thinking, especially when they collaborate with other members of the ant colony.

Each ant in a colony has a task. Ant scouts check for safe home sites, the queen lays eggs, and drones bring food to the nest. Each ant knows its role and performs tasks to keep the colony alive and strong. They understand simple problem-solving and work continuously. A scout sends out pheromones that let the others know to follow her in a line. If an obstacle in the way is too hard to climb, the ants circumvent it.
