As of 2015, the most anyone has ever won from playing a scratch-and-win ticket is $10 million. Joan Ginther won $10 million on a single ticket in 2010, making her fourth lottery win by far her largest.

Ginther's four wins total over $20 million, $15 million of which is from scratch-and-win tickets. The higher the cost of the scratch-and-win ticket, the larger the potential prize is. For example, a $1 scratch-and-win ticket might only offer a top prize of $500. In comparison, a $50 scratch-and-win ticket could give the person who is lucky enough to win with it a much larger reward.
