Does an Apple iPad have a user guide installed at the time of purchase?

The Apple iPad device does not come with a pre-installed user manual at the time of purchase as of April 2015. However, for iPads with an installed iBooks application, the official iPad user guide is available for free download at the App Store. The manual is in portable document format.

Aside from the lack of a pre-installed user guide, buyers typically do not get a printed manual along with the device. Some customers complain about the extra expenditure and inconvenience in using other methods just to access the user guide from their iPads. However, iPad owners do not need to buy third-party software to get a copy or read the user guide from their tablets. Through the iBooks app, which can be downloaded at no cost from the App Store, users can download the PDF version of the manual, add the file to their library and read the user guide from devices.
