An appliance dolly is a carrying tool that lets people easily move large or heavy appliances, such as refrigerators, washers, dryers and stoves. It typically has wheels for mobility and straps to secure the item in place. Appliance dollies are also known as hand trucks.

Both professional movers and non-professionals who need to move use appliance dollies. They are sold at home improvement stores, such as Home Depot, but they are also available for rent. Moving and storage companies, such as U-Haul, typically have them on hand and rent them out along with the trucks they offer.
