When do you apply Holly Tone?

After digging a hole for a new plant, remove half the soil and replace it with compost, peat moss or humus. Then, mix 1 cup of Holly Tone into the amended soil before placing the plant in the hole.

For new plantings, after placing the plant in the hole, fill the hole halfway with amended soil, pack the soil firmly, soak it with water and let it settle. Finish filling the hole, leaving 2 inches loose for the easy absorption of water. Make a depression around the plant to help hold water, and then add mulch. Keep the plant well watered until it is established.

For already established plants, feed them twice yearly.
