How do you apply makeup?

There are many ways to create dazzling effects with makeup. The following method takes only minutes and requires basic cosmetic supplies. To create this look, you need synthetic makeup brushes, cosmetic sponges, foundation, concealer, lip gloss, blush, an eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and mascara.

1. Wash and dry your face

   Makeup looks best on clean skin. Wash your face and pat it dry with a soft towel.

2. Cover blemishes and dark circles

   Dip a small, thin brush into concealer and place tiny dabs on pimples, moles and other marks you wish to conceal. Pat the concealer until it covers the blemish but not the surrounding skin.

3. Apply foundation

   Place a small amount of foundation on your forehead, chin and cheeks. Blend it with a sponge. Place a dab of foundation around your nose and blend again.

4. Create a rosy glow

   Swirl blush directly below the apples of your cheeks. Use light strokes, and apply a small amount of pigment at a time.

5. Fill in your eyebrows

   Fill your brows with an eyebrow pencil. Use short, feathery strokes and run the pencil lightly over your skin. Blend the color with a tapered eyebrow brush or a clean cotton swab.

6. Line your eyes

   Use a sharp brown or black eyeliner along your upper lash lines. Make short, light strokes. Blend lightly with a cotton swab.

7. Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara

   Place an eyelash curler at the base of your lashes and press firmly. Release the pressure, move the curler to the middle of your lashes and press again. Release, pull the curler out to the tips of your lashes and press once more. Apply a coat of black mascara and repeat with your other eye.

8. Slick your lips with gloss

   Place a dab of lip gloss in center of each lip and press them together.
