Where do Arabs live?

While Arabs can be found living throughout much of the world, the Arab World is defined as 22 countries of North Africa and the Middle East. This does not include Turkey and Iran because the languages of those countries are Turkish and Farsi, respectively. The term "Arab" is used in reference to people who speak Arabic as their first language.

The term "Arab" is not used to refer to a race, but rather a group of people who are united through their shared history, culture and language. While the majority of Arabs are Muslim, there are also Arabs who are Christian or Jewish. As of April 2015, there are more than 300 million Arabs worldwide.
