The Arctic wolf's habitat is the Arctic tundra where the wolf lives in peace due to the isolation of the area from humans. The Arctic wolf, unlike many of its relatives, such as the gray wolf, is not in an endangered status on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's red list.
The Arctic wolf has an extra layer of fur when compared with other wolves in order to stay warm in the frigid Arctic temperatures. The wolves are white in color and live in packs. The Arctic wolf is carnivorous and eats lemmings, Arctic hares, Arctic foxes, musk oxen and caribou. They will attack and eat as a pack. The Arctic wolf also mates for life and raises its young within the pack.
