Is Area 51 real?

According to CNN, the Central Intelligence Agency has released documents verifying that Area 51 exists. The documents do not mention any information related to the conspiracy theories surrounding the secret military base. Area 51 is reported to be located approximately 125 miles north of Las Vegas, Nev.

The New York Times reports that Area 51 is near Rachel, Nev. at Groom Lake. The documents released to the public state that Area 51 is indeed a secret government site where espionage airplanes were tested. The reports, which are less redacted than previously released documents, mention that the U-2 aerial vehicle was tested at Area 51.
