Where is area code 349?

Area code 349 is not in use as of January 2015 and has not been assigned to a geographic area. Telephone numbers containing the 349 area code are not valid and will not be successfully completed if dialed.

The North American Numbering Plan is a tool used by regulators to assign telephone number resources to qualified entities such as telecommunications carriers. The NANP has not yet assigned the 349 area code to any entity or area.

It is possible for caller ID to relay a false telephone number, including an unassigned area code, if it has been spoofed, or deliberately falsified. It is a violation of the Truth in Caller ID Act to use spoofed telephone numbers. Violations complaints are filed with the FCC.
