Who is Ariel Castro?

Ariel Castro is a criminal who held three women hostage in Cleveland, Ohio for 8 to 10 years. On September 3rd, 2013 the girls were rescued in the Tremont area when one of the girls escaped with her daughter (born in the hostage situation) and was able to call the police.

The three women held hostage were Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus as well as the young daughter that Michelle Knight had during her time as a hostage. Ariel Castro was found guilty in court and given a sentence of "life in prison plus 1,000 years," though he committed suicide in jail in September of 2014.
