According to Liposuction.com, arm liposuction is a form of tumescent liposuction in which a surgeon removes arm fat with a tool called a microcannula. The procedure can eliminate over 75 percent of arm fat, as well as fat pads in front of and behind the armpits.
Dr. Rashi Rosenstock of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery explains that liposuction of the upper arms should be performed on individuals with optimal levels of skin elasticity to ensure proper skin retraction following the procedure. Dr. Rosenstock also explains that individuals with inefficient skin elasticity may be better suited for arm lift procedures that surgically remove excess arm skin.
