Why did OJ Simpson drive a Ford Bronco?

The infamous 1993 white Ford Bronco actually belonged to OJ Simpson's friend, Allen G. Cowlings. Simpson had demanded to be driven to his house, threatening to shoot himself.
During the most widely viewed car chase in history, OJ Simpson was the passenger, and Al Cowlings was the driver of the Bronco. Cowlings and Simpson played football together in high school, college and the NFL. As law enforcement and media followed at a cautious distance, Cowlings drove Simpson to his home, where he eventually surrendered to the police. He was later convicted of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and Ronald Goldman.
