In the first film, Marlon Brando plays Vito Corleone, and Al Pacino portrays Michael Corleone. Diane Keaton portrays Michael's wife, Kay Adams Corleone, and James Caan plays "Sonny" Corleone, the oldest son of the Godfather. Although Vito Corleone is the titular character in "The Godfather," the story revolves around his favorite and youngest son, Michael Corleone. Robert De Niro replaced Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone in "The Godfather: Part II."
