Is there an Australian dogo?

A breed known as the "Australian dogo" does not exist. The dogo Argentino, however, is a breed of dog that is banned in countries such as Australia for concerns regarding its temperament. The dogo Argentino is also known as the Argentinian mastiff and is a large, heavily-muscled dog.
The physical appearance of the dogo Argentino resembles that of an American pit bull terrier. The powerful jaws of this breed end in a scissors bite, while its robust head is adorned by high-set, cropped ears. Bred as a hunting dog, the dogo Argentino requires a strong, assertive master and early socialization to make it viable as a family pet.
