Is there an auto train that runs from Sanford to Lorton?

As of 2015, there is an Amtrak auto train that runs from Sanford, Florida, to Lorton, Virginia. The train departs daily at 4 p.m. and arrives at approximately 9 a.m. the following day. An auto train also runs the reverse route on the same time schedule.

The auto train is a unique transportation method where passengers ride either in standard coach seats or private rooms while their vehicles are carried in attached freight cars referred to as autoracks. The train also has lounge cars and dining cars.

The auto train is a nonstop service that covers 855 miles. The southbound train operates as Train No. 53, and the northbound train operates as Train No. 52.
