Car insurance rates may vary from state to state, but, on average, drivers pay between $2 and $5 a day for their car insurance as of 2015, says Value Penguin. Different programs and additional coverage may also affect the daily price of the insurance.
These averages were calculated for drivers between the ages of 16 and 70. Auto insurance typically costs more for younger drivers, and 16 year old drivers have the most expensive insurance costs. Young drivers are known to be more dangerous behind the wheel, and as a result, insurance companies charge higher rates on policies for younger drivers, according to Value Penguin.
