What is the average life span of a Persian cat?

A well-bred Persian cat has an average life expectancy of 15 years or more, which is about the same as that of most domestic purebred cats.
Cat lifespan varies from breed to breed; however, the average lifespan of a free-roaming cat is less than three years, whereas the lifespan of an indoor cat averages 15 to 18 years, because they do not face the dangers that outdoor cats face like traffic, attacks from other animals, feral diseases and stress. Spayed and neutered cats live longer because they do not develop ovarian or testicular cancers. Mixed-breed cats also live longer than purebreds since their genetic makeup usually shields them from hereditary diseases.
