The median pay reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for a news analyst is $37,090, or approximately $17.83 per hour. This is the reported rate for sports analysts with at least a Bachelor’s degree.
Some job duties of a typical sports analyst are: providing expert previews of upcoming games, interviewing coaches and key players before or after the game, offering expert insight and commentary during a game and providing a detailed wrap-up of what happened at the conclusion of a match-up. Many hopeful sports analysts study broadcast journalism in college and gain valuable experience working for their school’s athletic department.
