What is the average size of a Labradoodle?
By Forinfos - 28/02/2026 - 0 comments
Standard Labradoodles vary in weight between 50 and 65 pounds and should be between 22 and 24 inches in height at the shoulder. Medium Labradoodles are between 30 and 45 pounds, and 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder. Miniature Labradoodles weigh between 15 and 25 pounds.
The Labradoodle is not a purebred dog. It is a mix between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. The initial development of the Labradoodle took place in Australia in 1989 for the purpose of being a hypoallergenic guide dog. Wally Conron, the head of breeding for the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia, conducted the first crossbreeding of a Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle.
