By Forinfos - 09/02/2026 - 0 comments
The average estimated wait time to cross the United States border into Canada is 10 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on weekends and holidays. Commercial flow may experience an additional delay but this is often limited to less than 20 minutes.
The 10 and 20 minute wait times are the estimated wait times for travelers reaching the primary inspection booth, the first point of contact with the Canadian Border Service when crossing the Canada/United States land border. The Ambassador Bridge from Detroit to Ontario has the longest commercial wait while border checkpoints in Washington and Maine have the longest delays for non-commercial flow.
