What is a baby Komodo dragon called?
By Forinfos - 05/09/2025 - 0 comments
Baby Komodo dragons are called hatchlings. As they grow a bit older, they don't have a special name; they are just referred to as babies.
Komodo dragons have a tendency to eat their young. Therefore, as a defense mechanism, Komodo babies cover themselves in feces to deter the behavior, as feces are one of the few parts of an animal that a Komodo dragon doesn't eat. When hatched, the young range from slightly less than a foot long to almost 2 feet long, and they are born with colorful skin in colors such as browns, greens and yellows to camouflage them from enemies.
