What does a bailiff say in the courtroom?

A bailiff announces when the Judge is about to enter the courtroom by saying, "All rise," and subsequently announcing the Judge's name. When a bailiff makes his announcement, everyone in the courtroom who is able must stand and continue to stand until the Judge indicates everyone may be seated.

A bailiff's main job is to provide security for the judge, jurors, personnel and general public inside the courtroom. A bailiff assists the Judge or court clerk in preparing for the upcoming court docket and swears in witnesses as they approach the stand. He also takes the defendant into and out of the courtroom and oversees jury deliberation to ensure no unauthorized people come in contact with the jurors.
