A balconette bra provides minimal coverage with wide-set straps and lifting support for the breasts. Balconette bras are also known as shelf bras or balcony bras.

Balconette bras are similar in style to demi bras and have in common wide-set straps, lifting support and less coverage than a full-cup bra.The main difference between a balconette bra and a demi bra is that balconette bras provide less coverage, often covering only the bottom half of the breast, while demi bras cover up to three-fourths of the breast. Both types are designed to display more cleavage when wearers pair them with low-cut shirts.
