What is the name of a baby falcon?

A baby falcon is called an eyas. An eyas weighs about 1 ½ ounces upon hatching and is basically blind. Eyasses get out of their eggs by using their beaks to cut an opening large enough for escape. This exhausting process can take nearly two days.
The only protection from the elements eyasses have after hatching is a down coat. Therefore, eyasses require constant and immediate care and attention from their mothers in order to stay warm after hatching. Eyasses are not fed for a full 24 hours after hatching. A female falcon typically lays between two and four eggs, which are in incubation for about 30 days.
