Banks in the United States are open on Boxing Day, according to AreBanksOpen.com. Both the TD Bank and JP Morgan official sites note that American branches of their banks do not observe Boxing Day as a holiday. JP Morgan notes that its London and Hong Kong branches observe the holiday.

Holidays Calendar reports that some commonwealth countries celebrate Boxing Day. These countries include Northern Ireland, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand on December 26. Some provinces of Canada recognize Boxing Day as a public holiday, while others do not. The Republic of Ireland celebrates a public holiday on December 26, but the day is known as St. Stephen's Day.
