Who is Barbara Mandrell?

Barbara Mandrell is an American country music artist known for her role on TV shows and her Top 10 hits. She is popular for being the first female to win the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year Award; Mandrell won this award twice.

Born in 1948, in Houston, Texas, to parents Irby and Mary Mandrell, Barbara Mandrell showed interest in music at a tender age by playing pedal steel guitar. When she was 11 years old, she became part of Joe Maphis’ show in Las Vegas. Her songs “Sleeping Single in a Double Bed” and “Years” made it to number one on the Billboard charts in the 1970s and 1980s.
