Barry Manilow is married to Garry Kief, his manager, and president of Barry Manilow Productions. The couple celebrates a more than 30 year relationship by wearing wedding bands. They have no official paperwork to document the April 2014 private ceremony, citing concern that their plans would leak before the wedding.

The marriage confirms speculation among Manilow's fans and friends that he is gay. Friends say they were surprised about the secret wedding, believing that they were gathering for lunch at the couple's home in Palm Springs, California. Manilow and Kief both have female exes from traditional marriages that go back several decades.
