How do you stop static hair?

To remove static electricity from hair, wash and condition the hair, blow dry it, apply refreshing spray and hairspray, and treat mid-day static with a dryer sheet. This 45-minute process requires hydrating shampoo and conditioner, a towel, an ionic blow dryer, a non-plastic comb, dryer sheets, refreshing spray and hairspray.
- Wash and condition the hair
Wash the hair with a nourishing, hydrating shampoo. Leave it on the hair for several minutes, rinse it out, and soak the hair with a hydrating leave-in conditioner. Squeeze out excess conditioner, and then wrap the hair in a towel.
- Dry the hair with an ionic dryer
Dry the hair with an ionic blow dryer. Run a non-plastic comb through the hair as you dry it. Stop drying when the hair is still slightly damp.
- Refresh the ends
Spray the ends of the hair with an oil-based refreshing spray, and distribute the product with a comb.
- Apply hairspray
Mist a comb with hairspray, and pull it through the dried hair. Re-wet the comb several times if the hair is very long or coarse.
- Treat static flare-ups with a dryer sheet
To banish mid-day static, fold a dryer sheet in half, place it against the head, and smooth it over the hair.
