Which is better for a countertop: granite, Corian or quartz?

Granite countertops offer the most benefits in comparison to Corian and quartz. However, each material offers a variety of pros and cons. Granite and quartz are both easier to maintain than Corian, offering stain, scratch and heat resistance, whereas Corian offers easier repair and more variety.

Granite is a natural stone, therefore limited in color options. It is important that a quality sealant is used on a granite countertop because it is a porous material that could stain otherwise. Quartz is also an excellent choice for countertops and shares the majority of features that granite provides. Due to quartz being a manufactured stone, it is more difficult to achieve the veining seen in natural stone surfaces, such as granite, giving it the higher aesthetic rating.
