Malamutes from the breeders at Wakon Giant Alaskan Malamutes can grow to be 35 inches tall and weigh close to 190 pounds. The breeder claims that the animals are direct purebred descendants of the M'loot type of Malamutes.
The M'loot type of Malamute lived with the ancient Inuit peoples. The dogs were powerful, capable of pulling heavy sleds through the Arctic. The M'loot were considered working dogs. However, the breeders at Wakon claim that the legacy of these dogs has been lost through the centuries, so Wakon strives to breed an ideal example of what an Alaskan Malamute should be.
