How big do Siamese algae eaters grow?

Siamese algae eaters grow to a maximum of 6 inches under ideal conditions. The popular aquarium bottom feeder is often just 1.25 to 2.5 inches long when purchased.
The aquarium should hold at least 25 gallons of water, and it should be bigger if there are a lot of other fish. The setup needs to include a densely planted area with several broad leaves that the fish can rest upon, as well as rock for the algae. While the species is a hardy algae eater, a variety of flake, frozen and live food must be given, as many tanks may not have enough algae for the fish to grow to their potential.
