The Co-Operative Union, Limited in Rochdale, Manchester, United Kingdom created the giant pancake. It weighed 6,614 pounds. The pancake was so large that it had to be lifted by cranes to be displayed and moved. This pancake beat out previous world record holders, including the pancake made in Penn Yan, Florida that had a diameter of 28 feet, 1 inch. That pancake was made of buckwheat and weighed 4,050 pounds, which was enough to secure the Guinness World Record in 1987.
