As of 2014, the five largest cities by population in the state of Georgia are Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, Macon and Savannah. The population of metropolitan Atlanta is approximately 4.1 million, according to Newsmax.

The approximate populations of Columbus, Augusta, Macon and Savannah are 202,000, 197,000, 154,000 and 142,000 respectively. Atlanta is the ninth largest city in the United States and has the world's largest airport. It is also the home of 13 Fortune 500 companies. Augusta is the oldest city in Georgia. Also known as the Peach State, Georgia is the eighth most populous state in the United States, with a population of approximately 10.1 million.
