Where does bile come from?
By Forinfos - 10/05/2026 - 0 comments
The body creates bile in the liver and stores it in the gallbladder. The composition of bile is primarily cholesterol, bile salts (or bile acids) and bilirubin, a product that comes from the breakdown of red blood cells. Other trace items in bile include water, copper and body salts.
The purpose of bile is to break fats down into their component fatty acids during the process of digestion. After the bile has completed its work, the body can then absorb the fatty acids through the digestive tract. While bile is a necessary chemical in the human body, consuming it would have toxic results.
