What is a bioluminescent fish?
By Forinfos - 08/02/2025 - 0 comments
Bioluminecent fish are a collection of eye-catching creatures found in the darkest zone of the ocean that create light with chemicals produced within their bodies. These glowing fish create this light to either display a threat to predators or to lure their prey in.
The effect produced by these fish is similar to that of fireflies and other glowing insects we see on a day-to-day basis. Some common examples of such deep sea marine bioluminecent fish include the firefly squid, the railroad worm, the cookie cutter shark, the midshipman fish, the angler fish, the brittle star and the comb jelly.
