How do you bleach shorts?

Bleach shorts in a one-to-one bleach-water solution in a basin for 15 to 20 minutes until the color starts to lift. Use gloves to keep the chemicals from the skin. To create patterns, scrunch the material together, and secure with rubber bands to prevent the bleach from penetrating that area.

If using rubber bands, remove them, and then rinse the material thoroughly to neutralize the bleaching process. Next, lay it out to dry.

Some fabrics, such as silk or wool, are not appropriate for bleaching. For best results, use cotton, rayon, linen, synthetic materials or denim. Using warm bleach for optimum results.
