What is a Blue Paul Terrier?

The Blue Paul terrier is an extinct dog breed that is believed to have originated from Scotland. It was used as a fighting dog in its home country and in the United States. It is unknown how this breed went extinct.

Although the Blue Paul terrier is believed to have had a smooth coat and a powerful build, no one knows exactly what this dog looked like aside from its blue color. It is believed that this breed introduced the color blue into the Staffordshire bull terrier line. The American pit bull terrier and American Staffordshire terrier lines likely owe their blue coloration to the Blue Paul terrier as well.
