What are some blueberry desserts?

Blueberries are often used in the same desserts that call for other berries; pie, cobbler and shortcake are a few examples. Use blueberries to fill a graham cracker pie crust, or mix them with strawberries, and layer the berries between sweet biscuits and whipped cream.

Blueberries are often used in light desserts because they are in season during summer. Blueberry trifle is made with layers of pudding, pound cake, fresh blueberries and blueberry sauce. Make a sauce by cooking the berries with a little water, sugar and lemon juice. The sauce can be poured over vanilla ice cream or slices of cake. The berries are also often baked into crumb cakes and muffins.
