What is the boiling point of isopropyl alcohol?
By Forinfos - 11/11/2025 - 0 comments
The boiling point of isopropyl alcohol is 180.5 F, or 82.5 C. Isopropyl is primarily created by combining water and propene in a hydration reaction, but it can also be produced by hydrogenating acetone. Isopropyl alcohol is colorless and flammable, and it has a strong odor.
It is the simplest form of secondary alcohol, which means that the carbon atom of the alcohol is attached to two other carbon atoms. This is in contrast to primary alcohol, in which one carbon atom is attached to an alcohol carbon atom, and tertiary alcohol, in which three carbon atoms are attached to an alcohol carbon atom. Isopropyl alchohol is miscible with water, alcohol, ether and chloroform.
